The Gospel is the good news

H- Mark 1:14-15 15a and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand;”

E- The book of Mark is about action, using the word “immediately” 40 times. So Mark covered the time from before creation to His temptation in 4 words The time is fulfilled”. T What God had in mind before creation, said to Eve, promised to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and many other Old Testament prophets, the time had come. The kingdom of God is at hand!  But His kingdom has to do with His reign in the lives of His people; it is a spiritual realm and not a political organization. The only way to enter God’s kingdom is by believing the Good News and being born again  A.

Wiersbe said: “Most of the Jews read “political revolution” into the phrase kingdom of  God. “Gospel of God” because it comes from God. “Gospel of the kingdom” because faith in Jesus brings you into His kingdom. “Gospel of Jesus Christ” because without His life, death, and resurrection, there would be no Good News. “The Gospel of the grace of God” because there can be no salvation apart from grace C.”

1b The gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,… 3b that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.” D

“you stand” in the gospel from salvation until heaven when the Disciple Y is being conformed to the image of Jesus. E

A- I have been saved by grace and now I stand in my life between salvation and heaven being conformed to the image of Jesus, partially on earth and fully in heaven.

R- O God may I persevere and empowered by Your Spirit stand and be conformed to the image of Jesus.
