God created the heavens and earth!

H- [X] Isaiah 42:5   Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: #22 in Creation Series

E- Isaiah 42:1-7 is the first of 4 “servant songs” in Isaiah, referring to Jesus the Messiah [Isaiah 49:1-6, 50:1-11, 52:13-53:12] Three thoughts about 42:1-7:

1.Vv.1-4…Jesus, the Suffering Servant is presented as weak, despised, rejected, and slain.

2.V.5…The Lord created the heavens and earth and everything in them. He created  people and gave them breath and spirit. This is the 22nd time God has revealed Himself as the Creator beginning in Genesis [there are 33+ verses to go]. As I began this study I was amazed at the number times the Word of God reveals that God is the Creator! It is apperent that God seriously wants His children to know that He created everything in the beginning.

3.Vv.1,6…The work of the Suffering Servant is for all the nations. The salvation is available to people of all nations who believe by faith in Jesus as their Savior [Romans 10:17,9] [A].

A- God was the Creator and is the sustainer. The old heavens and earth will be replaced by the new heaven and earth in the future [Revelation 21:1-5].

H- O God help me to submit humbly in faith to Your great power!
