H- X Colossians 2:2e-3…2e Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. NASB
E– Omni means “all’ and sapient means “wise” in Greek. Therefore, God is Omnisapient, all-wise and always knows what is best for His creation. Romans 11:33-34.. 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
All God’s acts are accomplished through His infinite wisdom. He always acts for our good, which is to conform us to the image of Jesus. Our good and His glory are bound together. G
God’s wisdom is seen in His works of creation, preservation, and redemption: it is His choice of His own glory as His goal B, and His decision to achieve it by creating a marvelous variety of things and people C, by kind providences of all sorts D, by the redemptive wisdom of Jesus crucified, E and the resultant world church –“so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places”. Human wisdom comes from God’s Word, the mind of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit dwelling in the life of a Disciple. A What pastors and others say about human wisdom:
“Spurgeon – Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.
Packer said that “Wisdom is the power to see and the inclination to choose the best and highest goal, together with the surest means of attaining it.”
Vance Havner said “If you lack knowledge, go to school. If you lack wisdom, get on your knees! Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is the proper use of knowledge.”
Adrian Rogers said, “Wisdom is the ability to see life from God’s point of view.”
“Wise people know how to learn; they never seek knowledge for their own sake. They know how to talk; they speak the truth in love. They know how to act; they pursue justice and evade evil. Perceptive people balance their words and actions. They say and do the right things at the right time for the right reasons. The discerning person soon realizes that biblical wisdom is more about practice than philosophy. Wise people live skillfully. They apply heavenly counsel to earthly conduct.”
Wisdom (02451)(chokmah from the verb chakam – to be wise) is the ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding. Wisdom is the ability to see something from God’s viewpoint. Wisdom is “God’s character in the many practical affairs of life.” ” T
