H- X 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. NASB
E- God has no limitations, period. We will look at God’s infinity in three ways:
[1] “Eternality” – God had no beginning and will have no end! “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God, the Almighty, Who was and Who is and Who is to come” (Revelation 4:8b)
[2] “Immensity” – God’s absolute lack of any limitations in space.
[3] “Perfection” – All of God’s attributes are infinitely perfect. [1 John 1:5; Matthew 5:48] These 2 references contrast the perfection of God with the command for Disciples Y to also be perfect. God sees Disciples as eternally perfect because after death our souls will be perfect and after the rapture, we will also have perfect bodies like the resurrected body of Jesus.
All of these attributes are impossible for a human today, even one who has believed in Jesus and has peace with God. We realize our limitations! But what do we do in the midst of problems encountered by self or others? We can trust and know God who is infinitely perfect in His holiness, faithfulness, love, goodness, mercy, grace, and wrath toward and punishment of sin. I like the Words promise: “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” [Ephesians 3:20 NLT] What is possible through God’s mighty power?
A- X The perfect infinity of God gives me great hope every day.
R- O God help me to ask and think bigger things from You for my family, church, city, and the USA. What big thing that only God can do are you praying for? Let me know and I will pray with you.
