H- X Exodus 3:14, Psalm 50:10-12, 102:25-27, John 5:26, 1 Timothy 6:1, Isaiah 42:5;
E- God the creator and sustainer of the universe is independent but humans are dependent. We are dependent on God for air, food, water, strength and many other things for life’s needs and comforts. God is eternal without beginning or end, but humans have a beginning at conception and end for the body; with an average lifespan after birth of 70 years for males and 74 for females worldwide in 2018. However, the soul of humans lives forever after the death of the body either in heaven or hell.
God is eternally self-sufficient within His Divine Triune nature. [Acts 17:24-30 NASB]
- God is sufficient in Himself with no needs outside of Himself vv.24-25b...24 The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25a-b nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything,
- The self-sufficiency of God creates our dependence on Him. He needs nothing from us but we need everything from Him. v.25c… since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
- God demands that we acknowledge this dependence & repent vv.26-30…26 having determined…27 that they would seek God,…28 for in Him we live and move and exist, 30 …God is now declaring that all people everywhere should repent,
If you call on God in faith, repentance, and acknowledging Jesus as Lord you will be saved, receive peace with God, and receive life forever with Jesus on earth now and later in heaven: “ 9 if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” [Romans 10:9-17 NASB] A
A- X The self-sufficiency of God leads me to total dependence on Him for life now and forever. I can trust Him because of His love and attributes of power, strength, and caring.
R- O God let me access Your power and strength today in my soul and then reveal Your glory to others today.
